Best Baby Monitor with the Least Interference – Philips SCD 589 DECT Digital

Philips SCD 589 DECT Digital Baby Monitor Review

Don’t you think it’s cute? That was what I first thought when we visited a friend’s place. This friend whom we’d met at pre-natal class had just had their baby too, and they had slightly more money to splurge than us. This Philips baby monitor is really expensive, and way beyond what we had been willing to spend on a baby monitor. However, I still think it’s a terrific baby monitor, despite the price tag, which is why I’m recommending it to you guys! :)

DECT

The feature that sets this monitor apart from the rest of the pack is that Philips has incorporated DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication) technology and automatic channel switching which totally eliminates interference and static. The only other devices out there on the market that use DECT are wireless telephones, and even then, the channel switching (there are 60 channels to choose from!) help prevent interference.

Lullabies and the future

Their daughter sleeps really soundly through the night but when she does wake up, her parents tell me that they use the 5 pre-programmed lullabies to soothe her to sleep. Talk about hands-free parenting! They themselves aren’t bothered by any sort of static noises throughout the night, and sleep soundly too, unless their princess wakes up crying in the middle of the night. They also tell me that they will undoubtedly be using this monitor for another year or two (their daughter is 6 months old) because of the starry night light feature, which will help comfort her in the dark.

Best Baby Monitor with the Least Interference

All in all, I’d say that my friend and her husband are super satisfied with their purchase and seeing the monitor in action made me want to persuade my hubby to buy us one too! (But it is unfortunately still too expensive! :( )
